So many book fairies around the world have stories. Stories about why they read, what reading a good book means to them, sometimes even how reading has changed their life. Today, Karina shares her Book Fairy story from California!
Karina’s Book Fairy Story
My name is Karina and I live in California, U.S.A. After graduating with a psychology and public health degree, I happened upon one of the best jobs I’ve ever had…homeschooling my 5-year-old son! Homeschooling has allowed both of us to fully submerse ourselves in the wonderful world of learning, which all starts with reading!

Karina is reading The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, while her son Oli reads Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling
My son started reading when he was 3 years old and he is currently reading the 5th Harry Potter book. Needless to say, we’ve accumulated a LOT of books over the years. We are fortunate enough to have a house overflowing with books, but we know that is not the case for a lot of families out there. Sharing our collection of books with people is one way that we try to spread kindness within our community and wherever we travel to.
Being book fairies together
Being book fairies together has turned out to be a fun, easy way to share our love of reading with others. Knowledge truly is power and we are very excited to be a part of this amazing movement!
