Author Hannah Beckerman hides copies of her book as a book fairy for a day

Author Hannah Beckerman is Book Fairy for a Day with her new novel

The Book Fairies were delighted to welcome author Hannah Beckerman into our magical world as she hid copies of her new novel If Only I Could Tell You.

Hiding books with an author in London!

Book Fairies in London were joined by author Hannah Beckerman on Friday 23rd August, and were blessed with an amazing sunny day! Hannah was excited to become a ‘Book Fairy for a Day’, an activity where authors get to hide their own books while accompanied by an official book fairy!

Hannah was joined by her very own mini book fairy, who was soon given the title of Creative Director as she found the very best places to hide the books – including in a tree and beside a swan!

Books found as soon as we hid them!

We were lucky enough to spot lots of the books being picked up, sometimes just seconds after we had hidden them! This day marked a book fairy first – we asked a black cab driver to leave a copy in the back of his cab! Hannah loved the idea of the book travelling around London before finding its next reader.

A little about the book:

If Only I Could Tell You, by Hannah Beckerman

A secret between two sisters.

A lifetime of lies unraveling.

Can one broken family find their way back to each other?

Audrey’s dream as a mother had been for her daughters, Jess and Lily, to be as close as only sisters can be. But now, as adults, they no longer speak to each other, and Audrey’s two teenage granddaughters have never met. Audrey just can’t help feeling like she’s been dealt more than her fair share as she’s watched her family come undone over the years, and she has no idea how to fix her family as she wonders if they will ever be whole again.

If only Audrey had known three decades ago that a secret could have the power to split her family in two, and yet, also keep them linked. And when hostilities threaten to spiral out of control, a devastating choice that was made so many years ago is about to be revealed, testing this family once and for all.

Once the truth is revealed, will it be enough to put her family back together again or break them apart forever?

Exploring the sites in London

The book fairies love finding great locations to hide treats! Hannah and the book fairies walked from Trafalgar Square down to Embankment Gardens, along the Thames (getting a pic of the London Eye en route!), past Westminster and the statue of Millicent Fawcett, and back up to St James’ Park and Buckingham Palace. We hid a total of one hundred copies of If Only I Could Tell You!

Left at one of the locations in the book!

Hannah went to the proms over the weekend, and as the Royal Albert Hall is one of the locations in the plot of her book, she held a copy back to hide inside the venue! We hope the finder enjoys it!

Some of the book finders!
