Book Fairies were thrilled to work with Harper Collins to hide this romantic paperback by Miranda Dickinson around London and UK-wide!
We loved hiding this beautiful novel up and down the country! Were you lucky enough to find one? It was a beautiful day for most of us, so very easy to find picturesque spots to hide the books!
About the book:
Their love story started with goodbye…
The brand-new novel from The Sunday Times bestselling author, Miranda Dickinson. ‘We’ll meet by the statue of Sir John Betjeman, on the upper concourse of St Pancras station, a year from today,’ he said. ‘If we’re meant to be together, we’ll both be there. If we’re not, it was never meant to happen…’ Phoebe and Sam meet by chance at St Pancras station. Heading in opposite directions, both seeking their own adventures, meeting the love of their lives wasn’t in the schedule. So they make a promise: to meet by the statue of Sir John Betjeman in twelve months’ time if they still want to be together.
But is life ever as simple as that?
This is a story of what-ifs and maybes – and how one decision can change your life forever…
Hiding a book at Betjeman
As you’ll read from the blurb on the back of the book, the couple meet at the statue at the very start. So, it only made perfect sense to leave a book with John! Sir John Betjeman CBE was an English poet, writer, and broadcaster and was Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1972 until his death. He was a founding member of the Victorian Society and a passionate defender of Victorian architecture, being involved with saving the St Pancras station, which is where his statue stands.
Books were found and shared!
Much of the time, book fairies are happy to hide their books without expecting thanks in return – this is part of the magic. The finders don’t know who leaves the books, the fairies don’t know who finds them… However on this occasion, quite a few people let us know when they found a copy!
