A book fairy in Ontario has shared their festive fairying!

“I have been a proud book fairy for several years now. In 2017, I started an annual holiday tradition that I have since dubbed, “24 Days of Book Fairy Merriment”. I leave one Christmas or winter themed book at different locations each day from December 1st to December 24th. It has turned into my own version of a reading advent calendar. The majority of my book drops take place in my hometown of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I may also leave them in other locations depending on my holiday travels.
For safety reasons, I chose not to do the book fairy drops in December of 2020 due to COVID, so I was very excited to pick up the tradition again this year.An added bonus to this little initiative is keeping my eyes open for discount holiday books throughout the year. As a librarian, I often frequent book sales and discount book sites, so I, too, receive much added joy in the “book hunt”. I look for books from all kinds of genres and reading levels. When the holidays come around I “hide” them in high traffic areas like malls, libraries, coffee shops, and grocery stores – locations that are especially busy during the holiday rush. If I can bring even one smile to someone during the holidays, then this tradition is a huge success in my eyes. Merry Book Fairying!”
