Like a Charm by Elle McNicoll hidden by book fairies - lots of fairies

New book release Like a Charm hidden by author Elle McNicoll and book fairies around Scotland

Elle McNicoll became a book fairy for the day to celebrate the release of her new book!

“How strange that the only place where I feel I belong right now is one where I’m embroiled in a mystery surrounding magical creatures.”

– Like a Charm, Elle McNicoll

The Book Fairies of Scotland had a ball today with author Elle McNicoll, who became a book fairy herself to hide copies of Like a Charm around Edinburgh at places related to the plot…

A note from the author:

The protagonist of this story has been diagnosed with Dyspraxia, more formally known as
Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD). It affects motor skills and processing. I was diagnosed at the age of 9. It makes my handwriting messy but, like Ramya, no one has ever been allowed to tell me what I can or cannot do.

“If she’s going to hide the truth, I’m going to go out and find it…”

About the book:

Edinburgh is a city filled with magical creatures. No one can see them… until Ramya Knox. As she is pulled into her family’s world of secrets and spells, Ramya sets out to discover the truth behind the Hidden Folk with only three words of warning from her grandfather: Beware the Sirens.

Plunged into an adventure that will change everything, Ramya is about to learn that there is more to her powers than she ever imagined.

“It’s been a strange day, all in all. What’s one more strange thing before night falls?”
