As part of our birthday celebrations, we are sharing stories from book fairies all around the world!
Meet Gina, a book fairy in Buckinghamshire, UK

How did you hear about The Book Fairies?
I found a book during Lockdown 2020 in a little free library near my childhood home, looked the Book Fairies up online and bought some stickers from the shop!
When did you get involved as a book fairy?
I was invited to join the official fairies for the Hold Still campaign in May 2021

What’s the best thing about being a book fairy?
Knowing that you might be responsible for someone reading a book they might not have chosen to read otherwise
What is the favourite book fairy activity you’ve been involved in and why?
Hold Still. The Duchess of Cambridge was involved, and it was my first official book drop, and I have such happy memories of the day

Do you have any tips/ advice for anyone wanting to become a book fairy?
Buy some stickers here – it’s as easy as that! And make a note of dry spots!!
Which book do you always recommend as a book fairy?
Harry Potter! And The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
Thank you to Gina for sharing her book fairy story as part of our #BookFairiesTurn5 activity!
