Everything Possible to kick off Book Fairies with Pride in the UK and US!

The Book Fairies have been busy kicking off our Pride activity by sharing copies of Everything Possible around the US and the UK!

About the book:

A joyful and inclusive lullaby about love, acceptance and following your heart. Strong and bold, or quiet and kind, every child is unique and their future filled with possibilities. Based on Fred Small’s iconic folk song that became an anthem for generations, and marking its 40th anniversary, Everything Possible celebrates love and friendship, gently encouraging children to dream their own dream and choose their own path, wherever it may take them.

The Story of the Song:

Forty years ago, when Fred was a traveling folksinger, he went to visit his musician friend Janet Peterson. Janet was a lesbian, which means she loved another woman. She was sad as she told Fred about her son, Aaron. She had always taught Aaron that boys could be gentle and kind, but many of his school friends thought they had to be tough and strong and not show their feelings. Aaron didn’t know how to fit in. She asked Fred if he would write a song to show Aaron that it was OK to be different — that he could choose how to act and how to live his life. Sitting on the bus the next day, Fred began to write the song “Everything Possible.” It became a big success and it is still sung today by people who live their lives in their own way and love whoever they want to love.

Happy finders!

We love hearing from finders of the books we leave behind, and today it was great to hear from finders on both sides of the pond!
