“Can we do this every day, please?”

The Book Fairies ran a Book Fairy Factory at Thorn Grove Primary School in Hertfordshire today, using donations of books from parents and bookshops! The whole school was included at an assembly in the morning, where the idea of being a book fairy was presented and discussed, before splitting the school into various groups to start the workshops…

The pupils each chose a book to hide, and then learned how to ‘dress the books up’ with book fairy stickers and ribbons, and many added a note inside with a drawing of a favourite character or a message about enjoying the book!

Following this activity, two of the school years headed out into Bishop’s Stortford to leave books in local cafes and restaurants (as it was likely to rain!!). Each child in the school was given a book fairy ‘fill me in’ bookmark so they can keep track of their reading in a fun way!

The children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and have been left with plenty more books and book fairy stickers so they can run their own Book Fairy Factory again soon! Thank you to the staff and pupils of Thorn Grove for your unbending enthusiasm and incredible welcome!
